Poilievre reiterates support for ‘peaceful’ convoy protesters amid Emergencies Act inquiry

Conservative Party Leader Pierre Poilievre, who expressed support for convoy protesters in February, responded Wednesday to questions about whether his stance on the so-called “Freedom Convoy” has evolved after listening to witnesses and evidence brought before the commission investigating the government’s use of the Emergencies Act. He said he continued to support those who peacefully protested, but condemns any participants who “broke laws, behaved badly or blockaded critical infrastructure.”
