A number of assaults in kept police busy Friday.
The first occurred around 9:30 a.m. A 23-year-old woman was arrested following a complaint of an assault in progress at downtown home in St. John's.
She was charged with assault and taken to court to appear before a judge.
Later that afternoon, at approximately 4:30, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a report of another assault - this time in Mount Pearl.
A 38-year-old man was arrested and charged with assault, after a brief investigation.
He was released to appear in court at a later date.
Finally, at 8:40 p.m., officers were called out to an incident in the Goulds area of St. John's.
A 28-year-old man was charged with assault and issued two summary offence tickets for operating a vehicle with an expired licence and registration.
He was also released to appear in court at a later date.
