Two people have been arrested after an eight-year-old girl went missing in Bristol.

Police have now located eight-year-old Tiolah safe and well after launching an “urgent abduction investigation” on Thursday morning.

Avon and Somerset Police said they have arrested two people and thanked all who helped their appeal to trace the girl, from Bedminster, Bristol, who was reported missing from her home on Wednesday afternoon.

She had gone to a McDonald’s and was expected home shortly after.

Her mother reported her missing by 7pm and police said “while there may be a reasonable explanation police are treating this investigation as an abduction”.

Detective Chief Inspector Ed Yaxley said previously, when appealing for help, that police had no evidence Tiolah had “come to any harm” but had been “absent from home without her mother’s permission for more than 12 hours”.
