From the Winston-Salem Journal:

According to the news release, officers responded shortly before 2:30 a.m. Thursday to a report of a fight involving several people at 219 Crossing Way, about a mile south of the Appalachian State campus. Shortly after arriving at the scene, officers were notified by Watauga Medical Center that Fuller, 21, had been brought to the emergency department suffering from a stab wound.

“It appears this incident started as an altercation outside a local bar,” police said in the release. “Later a fight involving multiple parties occurred in the parking lot of 219 Crossing Way.”

Fuller is entering his redshirt junior season with the program and was competing to earn a starting position at linebacker during spring practice. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Fuller registered 21 tackles and three sacks in 13 games in 2016. Fuller also saw action in 12 games in 2015 after redshirting his first season with the program.

“Our thoughts are with Teh’Ron and his family,” App State football coach Scott Satterfield said in a school-issued statement. “We are thankful for all the medical and support staff that are making sure he is being cared for. Our program and athletic department will continue to support Teh’Ron and his family any way we can during this difficult time.”
