Police are appealing for information after 40 sheep were stolen from a farm in Perth and Kinross.

Detectives said 20 ewes and 20 lambs were taken some time between Monday 8 July and Wednesday 31 July in Fossoway near Kinross.

The theft was only reported last week after their owner made local inquiries to ensure the animals had not wandered off.

The sheep are believed to be worth an estimated £5,400.

Con Ben Samson said: “Inquiries are ongoing to establish what happened to the sheep and we are appealing for anyone with information which could assist our investigation to get in touch."
