The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary were busy Sunday, arresting four drunk drivers, including three in less than half an hour.

An off duty-officer who was en route to work noticed a vehicle driving erratically on Main Road in the Goulds neighbourhood in St. John's at about 6:15 a.m.

The officer alerted the RNC and as a result of an investigation, the 27-year-old driver was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and refusal to take the Breathalyzer.

The driver was released to appear in court in November.

Later on Sunday, police responded to a call of a possible impaired driver in the Paradise Road area.

A 43-year-old male driver was found at 7:17 p.m. and charged with two counts of driving while prohibited, impaired driving, flight from police, dangerous driving and failing the Breathalyzer.

About 15 minutes later, RNC officers arrested a 37-year-old woman in the Logy Bay Road area of St. John's with a blood alcohol level over four times the legal limit. She was charged with impaired driving and failing the Breathalyzer.

Finally, at about 7:42 p.m., police arrested a fourth driver in the Topsail Road area. The 36-year-old man was charged with impaired driving and failing the Breathalyzer.
