Suspect in alleged abduction, sex assault, turns himself in

One of two Toronto men wanted by police in connection to an abduction and gang sexual assault that occurred Monday in Mississauga has turned himself in to authorities Wednesday evening.

Jimmy Minani, 36, is wanted for:

- Abduction

- Forcible confinement

- Two counts of gang sexual assault

- Robbery

- Threatening bodily harm

- Two counts of failing to comply with recognizance

The incident happened early Monday morning at about 4 a.m.

Police say a 25-year-old woman and two of her friends were in the Dundas Street West and Winston Churchill Boulevard area of Mississauga when their vehicle stopped. Two men pulled up in a van to offer assistance. When the women's vehicle still didn't work, the men offered the women a ride home.

While en route, one of the women was allegedly sexually assaulted. The van then stopped and two of the women were allowed to leave.

The third woman was abducted and the van left the area, according to police.

The two men allegedly sexually assaulted the woman, who was eventually able to escape.

A passerby contacted police after hearing a woman call for help in Toronto's Weston Road and Black Creek Drive area.

Police say the other suspect is a man known only as Devon.

He is described as black, six feet to six feet two inches tall with a large build. He was last seen wearing a hoodie, dark jeans and a blue baseball cap.

Police will be sharing more details at a Thursday press conference.
