'Unexplained' death of five-month-old baby girl investigated by police

The body of a five-month-old girl has been found by police as officers investigate her "unexplained" death.

The Courier newspaper reports that officers and paramedics were sent to the village of Almondbank, near Perth in Scotland, on Monday.

Police were reportedly seen carrying out door-to-door enquiries.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 9.40am on Monday, 15 February, 2021, police received a report a five-month-old baby girl had died in Bridgeton Brae, Almondbank.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing."
