Police investigate fatal crash in Midnapore in southeast Calgary

Calgary police are investigating a fatal collision in the southeast community of Midnapore on Tuesday.

Officers were called to the intersection of Midlake Boulevard and Midpark Boulevard around 10:40 a.m. following a two-vehicle collision.

One man died at the scene and another was taken to Foothills Medical Centre with non life-threatening injuries, EMS spokesperson Adam Loria said.

Police said one of the drivers in the collision was taken into custody.

Police said Midpark Boulevard and Midlake Boulevard between Macleod Trail and Midpark Rise reopened in the afternoon after being closed for several hours while emergency crews and investigators were at the scene.

The cause remains under investigation and no further details are available.
