Montreal police are investigating after a man was injured in a shooting in the borough of Montréal-Nord Tuesday.

There were multiple 911 calls made at around 5:30 p.m. about shots fired on Villeneuve Street, near Rolland Boulevard, police said.

A car with several bullet impacts was discovered on the street.

However, the victim, a man in his 30s, was found nearby on Lacordaire Boulevard, at the Charleroi Street intersection.

Police say he was conscious and transported to hospital with a wound to his upper body.

They say he is known to authorities and is not co-operating.

Police did not provide any details about a suspect or suspects in the case.
