Police investigating multiple unrelated stabbings in GTA

Police across the GTA are busy investigating multiple unrelated stabbings that took place Friday night and Saturday.

A man was taken to hospital in Whitby after being stabbed in the face and chest during a fight outside a bar in the Brock Road and Dundas Street area around 2 a.m. Saturday.

Durham police have not taken anyone into custody in that incident.

Hours before in the area of Albion Road and Shendale Drive in Etobicoke, a 19-year-old male was stabbed in the chest by an unknown assailant. The victim managed to make his way to a friend’s house nearby and called 911, police said.

He was taken to Sunnybrook Hospital to be treated and is expected to recover.

This morning, a male in his thirties was stabbed in the head and abdomen near a TD Bank near the intersection of Dufferin Street and Steeles Avenue West in North York shortly before 9 a.m. He was taken to a trauma centre with non-life threatening injuries.

Police were unable to provide a suspect description.

Finally, a male of unknown age was stabbed near the intersection of University Avenue and Gerrard Street just after 11 a.m. He was taken to hospital, but police could not comment on his condition.
