Montreal police investigating homicide in Park Ex neighbourhood
Montreal police are investigating after a 54-year-old woman was found dead in a Parc-Extension apartment.
The discovery followed a stabbing in the same building, where a man was seriously wounded and a woman was arrested.
The Service de Police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) says it received a 911 call for an armed assault inside an apartment building on de Liège Street near Querbes Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
Officers found a 23-year-old man with stab wounds to his upper body.
A 26-year-old woman was arrested at the scene for the stabbing.
Police say they obtained additional information on site and found the body of a 54-year-old woman in a nearby apartment in the same building.
According to SPVM Const. Jean-Pierre Brabant, police found signs of violence on the victim's body.
Brabant says they have not made any arrests in relation to the death of the 54-year-old. Police later said it was the second homicide of the year in the SPVM's territory.
Police say they do not yet know if there is a connection between the three people. The major crimes unit and forensic teams are currently investigating.
The 26-year-old woman was to meet with investigators today.
