Police look for suspects after man was confined against his will, stabbed

Calgary police are looking for a man wanted on warrants who they believe confined a young man in a targeted attack.

On Friday, at approximately 4 p.m., police received reports of a stabbing in Montgomery. When officers arrived in the 4900 block of 20th Avenue N.W., they found a man in his 20s lying in the backyard. He was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition but has since stabilized.

Police think the stabbing victim was confined in a neighbouring residence by three offenders. While investigators are still looking for a motive, police believe it was a targeted attack.

Suspect description

Nathan William Yautz, a 22-year-old, is wanted on warrants related to this incident. According to the Calgary Police Service, those warrants include one count each of aggravated assault, unlawful confinement and breach of recognizance as well as unrelated criminal warrants.

Police say Yautz stands at five feet ten inches tall, he's about 130 pounds, looks to be 20-years old, is slim and has brown hair.

Two other suspects sought

CPS is also looking for two other suspects.

One is an Indigenous woman last seen wearing black leggings and a dark hoodie. She's approximately 20-years-old with long brown hair and has a slim build.

Police say they don't have a description for the third suspect, an unknown male, at this time.

Police ask anyone who recognizes Yautz not to approach him and call police. If the public has information about the case, or the unknown suspects, contact police 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
