Toronto police search for 2 suspects after theft at high-end store ends in rollover crash
Police are searching for two suspects who allegedly robbed a high-end store on Toronto's luxury shopping strip on Bloor Street and were then involved in a roll-over crash just blocks away.
Police were called just after 10:30 a.m. Saturday about reports that a woman walked into the store, saying she was armed with a gun.
The women is alleged to have made off with a number of items before fleeing in a vehicle with a male driver, said Const. David Hopkinson.
Hopkinson said the vehicle was driving erratically and only came to a stop when it flipped over near Jarvis and Wellesley streets. Officers were called to that scene shortly after 11 a.m.
Police said one vehicle struck another, which then rolled over onto its roof.
Both suspects managed to flee the crash on foot, said Hopkinson, and no one is believed to have been seriously injured.
Police have not identified the store where the robbery took place or said if the vehicle being driven by the suspects was stolen.
Their investigation continues.
