Police: Man, 82, dies in Dundalk rowhome fire
An 82-year-old man who was trapped inside a burning Dundalk rowhome Wednesday has died. Emergency crews were called around 12:51 p.m. to the 800 block of Gray Haven Road for a fire and a person possibly trapped on the second floor. Baltimore County police said two officers tried to reach the second floor to rescue an occupant but had to turn back because of heavy smoke, flames and intense heat. Firefighters arrived three minutes later and found heavy fire on the second floor. They went inside to search for the victim and found him in cardiac arrest on the second floor. Paramedics took the man, identified on Thursday as Richard L. Sprouse, to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he died.
