Police raid Super Bowl party, break up illegal gaming ring
RCMP and York Police raided a Super Bowl party in Markham, Ont., Sunday night and broke up a multi-million dollar gaming enterprise.
Police said the annual Super Bowl party — which was allegedly run by organized crime groups — was by invitation only at Le Parc Banquet hall.
Several arrests were made while police executed a search warrant targeting illegal online gambling.
The investigation was conducted by the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) — a joint police task force.
The CFSEU will hold a news conference tomorrow with more details on the takedown of the illegal gaming ring.
