Los Angeles police dispersed a memorial for 20-year-old rapper XXXTentacion in West Hollywood on Tuesday, after the crowd began blocking the streets. An officer tells ET that police were called around 7:50 p.m.

Fans of the late musician were seen forming mosh pits, and even jumping from rooftops into the crowd below.

TMZ reports that "officers fired rubber bullets and pepper bullets into the crowd after participants started to throw rocks," but they eventually "gained control of the situation" and the crowd dispersed.

XXXTentacion was shot and killed on Monday in an apparent robbery. He released his debut album 17 in 2017, and his second album ? in March. It debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.
