Police reveal footage from Garden Restaurant shooting

Security camera footage from Garden Restaurant shows a dispute between two groups of men that ended up in the shooting death of Tariq Mohammed.

Toronto police Sgt. Gary Giroux said so many shots were fired in the restaurant that night that it looked like it was snowing, as food, dust and debris went flying and people panicked during the gunfire.

Garden Restaurant is at Dundas and Chestnut streets, near University Avenue. The shooting happened in the early hours of a Sunday in November.

Police say it was an attempted robbery that did not go as planned.

The video shows suspects trying to steal chains and jewelry from Mohammed. Giroux believe the suspects thought the theft would be easier to pull off. When Mohammed left the bathroom area with some of his belongings, the suspects followed him to the main area of the restaurant, where the shooting took place.

Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
