Police search for woman accused in hit-and-run of a Good Samaritan in Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale Police said Tuesday a search is underway for a woman they say ran over a Good Samaritan who was helping out another driver several months ago.

At about 12:05 a.m., on Aug. 11, cops say Yevhenii Arsirii stopped near the 2300 block of Northwest 6th Street to help a driver push their broken down car off the roadway.

“He did not know the driver of the disabled vehicle but chose to stop and help anyways,” FLPD said in a statement.

Police say 29-year-old Tydaijah Sade Lashone Murray then crashed into Arsirii and the disabled car.

Arsirii suffered “life-altering injuries” and was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, police say. He has undergone multiple surgeries and had his leg amputated, according to a GoFundMe set up to help pay for his medical expenses.

The driver of the broken-down car was also injured but did not have to go to the hospital, police say.

Murray abandoned her car at the crash scene and left on foot. Police have been looking for her since.

Anyone with information on Murray’s whereabouts should contact Traffic Homicide Investigator Paul Williams at 954-828-5755 or call Broward County Crimestoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477).
