Police searching for hit-and-run driver that struck pedestrian on busy Richland road
Richland police are asking for help finding a driver who hit a pedestrian on George Washington Way near Uptown Shopping Center.
The pedestrian was walking in front of McDonald’s on the busy Richland street at the corner with Williams Boulevard about 2 p.m. on Aug. 15 when a truck drove onto the sidewalk and hit the person, Richland police said on Facebook.
It’s unclear from the post whether the truck was pulling out of a parking lot or drove up onto the curb.
The pedestrian was thrown into the road, and had some redness and possible bruises, according to the Facebook post.
Richland police shared two photos of a flatbed pickup, which Facebook commenters appeared to believe was a tow truck.
Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency dispatch number at 509-628-0333, and reference case 24-034461.
