Mother who went missing with 3-year-old daughter urged to contact police

The RCMP is asking for the public's help to find a missing woman and her three-year-old daughter.

A statement Thursday said Naomi Morrisseau, 26, had last been seen Nov. 6 in Surrey, B.C., and was believed to be with her daughter, Genesis Reign-Soldat.

On Friday, RCMP provided an update, saying in a statement that Morrisseau willingly left her place of residence with her daughter and was last seen on Nov. 7 in the Whalley area of the city. The statement said Morrisseau has been in contact with an individual from her residence since leaving.

But police are still appealing for Morrisseau to contact them.

"Neither Naomi nor Genesis are under any obligation to return to their residence. However, police are seeking to check their well-being and to resolve the investigation. As such, Naomi Morrisseau is encouraged to get in touch with Surrey RCMP or any other police agency," the statement read in part.

Morrisseau is described as five feet four inches tall and weighing 165 pounds, with a medium build and long, dark brown hair.

Anyone with information about Morrisseau's whereabouts is asked to call RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous. Callers should quote file numbers 2020-173993 / 2020-174941.
