Police seek person of interest in case of missing student Natsumi Kogawa

Burnaby RCMP want help identifying a person of interest in the disappearance of Japanese ESL student Natsumi Kogawa, who has been missing for nearly three weeks.

Kogawa, 30, was last seen in downtown Vancouver Sept. 7, and was in contact with friends the following day.

Now, police have uncovered video surveillance showing Kogawa on Sept. 8, at 1:27 p.m. PT, after she was last seen, walking with a man near Seymour Street and Hastings Street.

Investigators want to identify and speak with the man in the images, who is described as:

- A white man.

- Approximately 30 years of age.

- Medium height.

- Slim build.

- Light coloured hair.

- Wearing a dark jacket, blue jeans, running shoes and a dark baseball cap.

- Holding what police call a black 'gym bag' with red handles and wearing a dark coloured duffle-style backpack.
