Police say they have a suspect in custody in relation to the homicide of a woman who was found dead earlier this week at a northeast Calgary hotel.

"Our detectives continue to investigate and believe this was a targeted attack and that it was domestic in nature," Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta said in a release.

Police aren't yet naming the suspect as he has not yet been formally charged.

Sharilyn Shelley Ann Gagnon, 33, was found dead in one of the rooms at the Airport Traveller's Inn on Tuesday evening when police were called to the hotel for reports of a disturbance.
