Police say three youths responsible for Northern Peninsula boat fire

Police say three youths are responsible for a fire that damaged a boat at a wharf on Newfoundland's Northern Peninsula.

St. Anthony RCMP said Tuesday morning it had identified the youths responsible for a fire that happened Sunday evening around 5:30 p.m., which extensively damaged the wheelhouse of a boat on a wharf in St. Lunaire-Griquet.

A quick response from the community's volunteer fire department salvaged the vessel, said police, and ensured the fire didn't spread to other boats on the slipway.

Police said no charges are pending.
