Poll workers needed for Municipal Elections

·1 min read

The democratic process during the upcoming municipal election can pay off – literally.

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is seeking roughly 350 workers to fill positions for this fall’s municipal election.

Staff are needed for a variety of roles for the advance poll days scheduled for Oct. 13, 14 and 15, as well as election day on Oct. 24.

“Elections are about public participation, and having members of the community handle poll duties is an important part of that,” said election co-ordinator Andrea Tsinias. “It’s an excellent chance to take part in our democratic process and get paid for your time.”

All election workers will receive paid training.

Those who are interested must complete the online election employment application found at www.ckelection.com.

Hard copies will also be available at the municipal offices in Chatham, Blenheim, Dresden, Ridgetown, Dresden and Tilbury.

Job descriptions and pay rates are available on the website under the election employment section. Compensation for training and Election Day ranges from $200 to $350.

Applications can be submitted until midnight on Wednesday, July 27.

Questions can be directed to 519-360-1998 or ckelection@chatham-kent.ca
