Lamar Jackson has exploded in NFL circles this season.
On Wednesday, he really went mainstream.
Members of the Archdiocese of Baltimore visited Pope Francis in Rome on Monday. Their gift to His Holiness? A signed Jackson jersey.
It’s actually a ‘Francis’ jersey
Well, technically it isn’t a Jackson jersey. It’s a Francis jersey. It is the Pope, after all.
But it bears Jackson’s No. 8 and is signed by the MVP frontrunner and head coach John Harbaugh.
#Blessed. 🙏

When hearing the news of the gift, Harbaugh joked about Pope Francis wearing it.
"We'll see if he's wearing his jersey anytime soon."

If he indeed decides to sport the jersey of the NFL’s hottest player, here’s guessing it won’t be for this week’s Ravens matchup against the Buffalo Bills.
Pope Francis likely has different priorities than a football game on Sunday.
