Power restored in Downtown Vancouver

The power has now been restored to several blocks in downtown Vancouver after an outage backed up traffic in the area just as commuters were beginning to head home.

BC Hydro says the problem was caused by a "cable fault" and crews were working to restore power by 9 p.m. PT.

A few traffic signals weren't working as a result, and drivers were following four-way stop procedures.

Traffic was backed up along several blocks throughout the eastern section of the Downtown core.
