Premier League officials will have the power to dock clubs points during the season run-in for repeatedly breaching lockdown restrictions, according to reports.

The final 92 games of the season are set to resume from June 17, starting with a double-header of Manchester City vs Arsenal and Aston Villa vs Sheffield United.

As the latest round of coronavirus testing saw zero positive Covid-19 results, following one from the previous results, The Sun report that emergency powers will allow fines of around £200,000 for lockdown offences.

Two breaches would see the fine double to around £400,000, with further rule-breaks at risk of "limitless" punishments including the docking of points.

A number of players and football figures have been found guilty of breaching social-distancing guidelines, with Totteham defender Serge Aurier notably a three-time offender.

Spurs grew exasperated with Aurer, handing him a hefy club fine, while the likes of Moussa Sissoko, Tanguy Ndombele and Jose Mourinho have also been guilty.

Manchester City pair Kyle Walker and Phil Foden have also been reminded of their duties for rule-breaks, while Aston Villa's Jack Grealish was an early offender.
