Premiers take up Movember challenge

P.E.I. Premier Robert Ghiz does not expect he will look good with a moustache.

P.E.I. Premier Robert Ghiz is taking up a Movember challenge from Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall, and then some.

Earlier this week Wall pressed Ghiz to make a donation to his fundraising effort to grow a moustache in November, joking Ghiz could think of it as an "at least it's him and not us" kind of payment.

Ghiz raised the stakes on the challenge Tuesday, pledging to grow a moustache for charity himself.

"He's going to do it, so I think we're going to take on the challenge," Ghiz told CBC News Tuesday.

Asked whether he could grow a moustache, the premier expressed some doubt.

"I guess that's something that we'll have to find out," he said.

"The question is how good it will look. I'm guessing not very good."

Wall said last week that he would join the Movember challenge if $3,000 was raised by Nov. 1, even though his staff think he looks dumb with a moustache. The premier was approaching $4,000 in his campaign by Monday afternoon.

There is no word yet if Ghiz has begun his fundraising.
