Prince Edward Island reports 175 new COVID-19 cases, two hospitalizations

CHARLOTTETOWN — Health officials in Prince Edward Island are reporting 175 new cases of COVID-19 in the province today.

There are now 1,550 active cases of the virus on the Island.

Two people have been hospitalized as a result of COVID-19, including one in intensive care.

There is also one person admitted to hospital for other reasons who has tested positive for COVID-19.

As of today, fully vaccinated people who test positive for COVID-19 must isolate for seven days — down from the previous 10 days, while those not vaccinated must isolate for the full 10 days.

Officials say anyone experiencing symptoms should isolate until they are able to be tested and get a negative result.
