Prince Harry gets a high-profile photo credit after snapping Meghan with a young lookalike

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been known to break royal protocol every now and then, from their sweet public displays of affection to hugging adorable youngsters during walkabouts. But the 34-year-old may have had his most high-profile rule-breaking moment in Sydney on Tuesday (Oct. 16). Against royal tradition, Prince Harry snapped a photo of Meghan Markle with a young doppelgänger, making a high-profile photojournalist out of him!

While the future parents were greeting their well-wishers outside of the Sydney Opera House on the first leg of their 16-day tour, the prince spotted Sethunya Gibbons, 9, who looks shockingly like a young Duchess Meghan. “Do you want to meet my wife?” Harry asked as he called the mom-to-be over. “Do you want me to take a picture of you two together?” Of course, Sethunya couldn’t say no to that one-in-a-lifetime request! And unbeknownst to future dad Harry, he was set to become a bit of a famous photographer – Sydney’s Daily Telegraph published the sweet shot on their front page, with the credit: “Photo: Duke of Sussex”. Perhaps he’ll take after his sister-in-law, Duchess Kate, who has a penchant for taking photos of her children!

As they were getting ready to take the photo, the lucky little girl’s grandmother said she thought they looked alike. Duchess Meghan responded enthusiastically: “I was literally about to say the same thing!” But these two have a lot more in common than just a similar appearance – Sethunya was wearing a shirt that says “girls can to anything,” certainly a sentiment that Meghan can get behind, having been a young activist herself before becoming famous and using her celebrity to further causes close to her heart.

When Meghan was 11, she had her entry into feminism and it set off a lifelong passion. After watching a sexist advertisement for Ivory dishwasher soap, which said “women all over America are fighting greasy pots and pans,” the future royal wrote a letter to Proctor & Gamble, asking for the “sexist” language to be changed from “women” to “people.”

It’s clear that the young Australian girl really looks up to Meghan, who may be welcoming her own little girl in the spring of next year. But whether the newest member of the Sussex family is a boy or a girl, we can only imagine what causes they will be inspired to get into, considering their mom and dad’s impassioned work for human rights and health!
