Prince Harry’s Song Collab with Jon Bon Jovi Has Officially Been Released
Prince Harry’s Invictus Games may be canceled, but that doesn’t mean his project with Jon Bon Jovi was put on the backburner. The Duke of Sussex and the 58-year-old rockstar just released their music collaboration (and we've already listened three times).
If you didn’t know, it was revealed last month that Harry was teaming up with Bon Jovi at a recording session for a re-recording of his song “Unbroken” with the Invictus Games Choir. The release is in support of the Invictus Games Foundation of which the duke is the founder.
The duo joined forces at the iconic Abbey Road studios—home to The Beatles—at the end of February. During the visit, the musician led the choir as they sang the new version of the song. After watching the recording, Harry and Bon Jovi met members of the choir and competitors from previous Invictus Games who were invited to join the celebration.
The release of the song, which took place on Friday, came just days after Harry announced that this year’s Invictus Games will be postponed until May or June 2021 due to the current coronavirus pandemic.
“This was an incredibly difficult decision for all of us to have to make,” he said in a clip. “And I’m so grateful for everybody that’s worked so hard over the past couple of weeks to try to find any alternative to try and carry on these Games in a different way—in a safe way. But this decision was the most sensible and the safest option for all of you—for your families and everybody else—involved in these Games.”
So, while we are sad that the games are no longer happening this year, at least we have this song to listen to on repeat.
