Prince William, Duchess Kate share new photos of their family with Sir David Attenborough
Fans of the royal family received an unexpected delight Saturday when new photos of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their family were released.
Prince William, Duchess Kate and their royal children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, are pictured in the Kensington Palace gardens with Sir David Attenborough.
In one of the photos, Prince George is holding the tooth of a giant shark given to him by Attenborough.
The photos were taken after Prince William and Attenborough attended an outdoor screening of his latest feature film "David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet."
The 94-year-old BBC broadcaster calls his film a "witness statement" on the horrifying effects climate change has had on the planet. "A Life on Our Planet" premieres Sep. 28 after being postponed from its April premiere date due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Attenborough, who broke Jennifer Aniston's record of being the fastest person to reach a million followers on Instagram, joined the platform Thursday to spread awareness on climate change.
"The world is in trouble," Attenborough said in his debut post. "Continents are on fire. Glaciers are melting. Coral reefs are dying. Fish are disappearing from our oceans. The list goes on and on."
The British royals have long been advocates of taking action against global climate change.
Last year, Prince William interviewed Attenborough about climate change during the annual World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland, as breathtaking scenes from nature scrolled on a giant screen behind them.
It wasn't the last time the Duke of Cambridge partnered with Attenborough on the topic. In September 2019, Prince William and Duchess Kate participated in a naming ceremony for the United Kingdom's new polar research ship, the RSS Sir David Attenborough, named for the famed wildlife filmmaker.
