The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced its list of nominees for the 2024 class on Tuesday morning. The list features the names of 173 modern-era players that are eligible to be selected to the Hall of Fame. This year, nine players have become eligible for the first time.
Who is eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame?
Any player or coach that has been retired for five full seasons is eligible to be selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
However, the Selection Committee goes through three rounds of polling to decide which potential candidates become official nominees on the final list, according to the Hall of Fame's website.

Who is on the Selection Committee?
The Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee is made up of one media representative from every city that has a pro football team. Los Angeles and New York have two representatives each, as both cities have two teams.
In addition, there is a 33rd member of the committee that is delegated by the Pro Football Writers of America, as well as up to 17 "at-large" delegates from other media organizations.

The list of nominees now stands at 173 names across all positions after two preliminary rounds of polling. The full list of names can be found on profootballhof.com.
Members of the Selection Committee will vote for 25 names each to whittle the candidates down to 25 Semifinalists in November.
The following players entered their first year of eligibility for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2024:
Running back: Jamaal Charles
Wide receiver: Brandon Marshall, Jordy Nelson
Tight end: Antonio Gates
Offensive line: T.J. Lang, Josh Sitton, Max Unger
Defensive line: Haloti Ngata, Julius Peppers
