Protesters in Quebec unfurl 'Rescind the Doctrine' banner in front of Pope
Two protesters at Thursday's mass at the Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré Basilica rolled out a large banner just steps away from Pope Francis that read 'Rescind the Doctrine.' The message refers to the Doctrine of Discovery, a centuries-old papal pronouncement used to justify the colonization, conversion and enslavement of non-Christians and the seizure of their lands.
