Provincial politicians return to the legislature next week

Provincial politicians return to the Saskatchewan Legislature on Monday.

Premier Brad Wall says priorities for the government include infrastructure spending and heath care.

"The disabled community knows where the money went. We made record investments there," Wall said Wednesday. "Front line health care workers have increased by 2,600 — never mind the doctors increase. That's where the money went. We can always do better as a government but we are looking forward to that debate."

He also said he will be pushing for a federal inquiry into murdered and missing aboriginal women.

Opposition NDP Leader Cam Broten said the government needs to address what he considers to be failures in the health care sector and seniors care.

"I've also been talking about the solutions that are needed," Broten added. "A Residents' Bill of Rights [is] a concrete thing that we've brought forward."

Broten repeated his criticism that the government has spent too much on a project known as lean, which aims to make the health care system more efficient.
