Provincial watchdog probes Windsor police incident after man's leg seriously injured

The province's special investigations unit is looking into an incident involving Windsor police after a man's leg was seriously injured Monday afternoon.

Police were called to a home on Riverside Drive near Crawford Avenue sometime Monday afternoon. Shortly after 4 p.m., a 27-year-old man was sent to hospital with serious leg injuries.

The SIU, which investigates when people suffer severe injuries during encounters with police, has assigned three investigators and two forensic investigators to the case.
