PRRD approves protection services for Bessborough, Chetwynd landfills

It is going to cost roughly $75,000 over five years to add fire protection services for a pair of PRRD landfills

Peace River Regional District directors approved fire protection services for their Bessborough and Chetwynd landfills, with directors voting in favour of recommendations at their Nov. 18 board meeting.

$10,500 a year will be used to provide services from the Dawson Creek Fire Department, starting Jan. 1, 2022 over the next five years for Bessborough.

$5,000 a year will be used to provide services from the Chetwynd Fire Department for the Chetwynd Landfill, also starting on Jan. 1, 2022, over the next five years.
