Putin says Russia needs long-lasting peace with Ukraine, not a temporary truce

MOSCOW (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Russia needed a long-lasting peace with Ukraine, not a temporary truce.

He said a prolonged ceasefire would allow "the enemy to strengthen its troops" and give Kyiv a chance to bring in reinforcements and ammunition.
