Queen Just Made a Statement About the Royal Baby

The royal baby has finally arrived-and Queen Elizabeth is sharing her excitement!

A statement released via Kensington Palace, shared that the monarch is "delighted" about her new great-grandchild.

Other members of the royal family also shared their enthusiasm for the yet-to-be-named newborn.

"The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news."

The little prince is reportedly in good health, as is his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge. The baby was born at 11:01 and weighs 8lbs 7oz. according to a statement from Kensington Palace.

"Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge was safely delivered of a son at 1101hrs," reads the tweet from Kensington Palace. "The baby weighs 8lbs 7oz. The Duke of Cambridge was present for the birth. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well."

He is the Queen's sixth great-grandchild and is fifth in line to the throne, just between Prince Harry and Princess Charlotte.

After Prince George's birth in July 2013, the Queen and Prince Philip Tweeted out their congratulations via Twitter:

And when Princess Charlotte was born in 2015, the Queen shared her "delight" via a statement: "The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news."
