Queens serves up Halloween treating options

·1 min read

Volunteer firefighters with the Greenfield and District Fire Department will be handing out goodies at the station to all the ghosts and goblins and other Halloween trick-or-treaters who head out October 31.

There will be a drive-through or walk-through treat pick-up at the station at 4960 Medway River Road, beginning at 4 p.m.

Anyone wanting to hand out candy from their car trunks can also park up at the station, and do it there. Or you can drop your candy off and firefighters and volunteers will give it out for you.

The Superstore in Liverpool is offering a similar service, whereby up to 25 decorated vehicles can park up on October 30 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. so the drivers can hand out treats from their trucks there in the parking lot.

Participants were asked to register at the Superstore’s customer service desk by October 27 to reserve their spots. However, there may still be room to participate.

There will be a chance for everyone to vote for their favourite trunk on Facebook, based on the parking spot number. The winner will have a chance to receive a Halloween basket.

Safety protocols will be in place.
