This quirky Meridian restaurant had ‘flavor worth fighting for.’ It just got knocked out

After rolling with the punches during the pandemic, a quirky Meridian restaurant is down for the count after three years.

Sweeto Burrito — a fast-casual, tortilla-based operation — recently closed. The Mexican wrestling-themed eatery was launched in September 2020 at 3110 W. Quintale Drive — next to the Broken Yolk Cafe in a strip mall near the intersection of 10 Mile and McMillan roads.

A small regional chain, Sweeto Burrito uses the motto “flavor worth fighting for.” The 2,200-square-foot Meridian restaurant had offered lots of indoor seating, along with a drive-thru.

Sweeto Burrito is known not only for its unusual branding, but for atypical food combinations.

The All American is a “monster cheeseburger burrito,” according to its menu, also stuffed with french fries. The Buff Chick is crammed with ingredients including boneless chicken, tater tots and Sweeto’s three-cheese blend.

Sweeto Burrito still has three locations: one in Idaho Falls and two in Utah.

The Smokehouse ($11.50) includes smoked chicken, chunky bacon, onion rings, Sweeto’s three-cheese blend and cilantro-ranch dressing.
