Rain and storms loom in Kansas City’s forecast after a couple of days of quiet weather
Sunny and mostly clear skies will prevail across the Kansas City area over the next couple of days before storms threaten to bring a soggy start to the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.
“Quiet weather through Thursday,” the weather service said on X, formerly Twitter. “Fall-like conditions in store as well.”
Temperatures will be around 59 degrees on Wednesday and 57 degrees on Thursday, which is typical for Kansas City this time of year.
Rain returns to KC for the weekend
Showers and possibly a few thunderstorms will return to the Kansas City area Friday.
Rain chances increase throughout the day on Friday, starting at about 25% in the morning and growing to 30% by the evening. Overnight, they increase to around 75% by Saturday morning. Showers will gradually come to an end by around noon.
The weather service said rainfall totals will range between .25 of an inch and an inch in most cases.
“The weekend will end on a dry note,” the weather service said.
Mostly sunny skies are expected on Sunday. Temperatures will hover around around 60 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.
