Rajasthan: Hindu man forcefully converted to Islam

According to a report in Amar Ujala, a Hindi daily, a man named Nitin Pant was forcefully converted to Islam in Rajasthan. The news is subsequently picked up by the Rajasthan press which claims that conversion was done by luring Pant through various allurements such as money and job.

Originally from Uttarakhand, Pant was reportedly threatened and beaten up when he resisted the conversion. He claims that he was even given electric shocks. The incident happened in Alwar district.

Later, he was taken to Meerut in Uttar Pradesh and was forced to sign an affidavit. Then he was lodged into a madrassa in Saharanpur's village.

Eventually, he approached Hindu organisations and narrated his ordeal. The members of the organisations took him out and brought him into the Hindu fold once again through a 'ghar-vapsi' program.

"We have received the information. As the case is related to Rajasthan, we will send an intimation to the Rajasthan Police once we receive the complaint. The local police will also take action when the allegations will be found to be true," SP Rajesh Kumar told the media.
