2nd woman arrested after fatal car crash in downtown Raleigh

One woman is dead and another is charged with murder after a fatal downtown Raleigh car crash, police said.

A second woman has been arrested in a fatal car crash in downtown Raleigh last month, police said Thursday.

Brianna Poole, 27, of Raleigh is charged with murder in the Nov. 1 death of 39-year-old Tara Dunn, according to a news release.

Kiara Dominique Brown, 25, was arrested on the day of Dunn’s death, also on a charge of murder, police said.

The charges stem from a car crash in the 300 block of Haywood Street about 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 1, the release said. Dunn was seriously injured in the wreck and later died at a hospital.

Brown and Dunn reportedly got into a fight before Brown hit Dunn with her car, according to the release. It’s not clear from the release or court documents how police believe Poole was involved.

Poole and Brown are being held without bail in the Wake County Detention Center, records show.
