Ranney Gorge Run goes virtual

·1 min read

Residents are being invited to go for a run or take a hike to support Campbellford Memorial Hospital (CMH).

The CMH Foundation has announced the Ranney Gorge Run, presented by Bay of Quinte Mutual Insurance, will be virtual this year.

Community members can take part by running or walking anywhere they choose between May 1 to 16.

“We had hoped we would be able to gather together in 2021, but due to the ongoing pandemic we have decided our run will be done virtually,” organizers said in a statement.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will help CMH buy life-saving medical equipment for the hospital, such as a new Cardiac Telemetry Monitoring System.

Registration is now open for the event. The 10.55 km/5 km registration fee is $25 and free for youth 12 and under.

Set up a personal fundraising page online to solicit sponsorship or print off a pledge form and then complete the walk or run on the date of your choice.

Take photos and send them to the CMH Foundation or share on social media with the hashtag #Ranneygorgerun for a chance to win prizes.

Participants will receive a race kit in the mail that will include a 2021 Ranney Gorge Virtual Run branded T-shirt, finisher medal and more.
