The Tottenham & Beeton District Chamber of Commerce is now distributing rapid COVID tests to small and medium sized business in New Tecumseth.
Medium size businesses include those with up to 150 employees.
Around 50 per cent of COVID-19 transmission is by people who have no symptoms. The rapid tests can quickly determine if there is cause for concern.
Rapid antigen screening is a quick way to identify employees with COVID-19 symptoms. Identifying asymptomatic and pre-symptomatic individuals early is an effective way of limiting spread within the workplace and within the community.
The tests will be available for businesses, free of charge, beginning on June 24.
In cooperation with the Ontario Ministry of Health and the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, the TBDCC has set up a distribution centre in their new office in Tottenham.
The program provides access to rapid screening kits so businesses can administer a workplace screening program.
Obtaining screening kits for your business is easy.
First, go to the StaySafe rapid antigen workplace screening portal at: http://tests.staysafescreen.ca.
You can register your company and learn more information about the program.
Order and pick up your screening kits.
Pick-ups will be by appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the new TBDCC office at 6670 3rd Line, Unit B. in Tottenham.
