Kyle Lowry's Toronto home has been conditionally sold

Toronto will always be a second home to Kyle Lowry, but the greatest player in Raptors history may be moving on, quite literally.

Lowry's Toronto home, which was listed in early February, has been conditionally purchased for $5.3 million, pending a home inspection and financing, according to records obtained by The Toronto Star. He purchased the home in July 2017.

Lowry's contract is set to expire at the end of the 2020-21 season and though trade rumours have been debunked by his agent, Mark Bartelstein, the six-time All-Star has been linked with a move to his hometown Philadelphia 76ers, either before the March 25 trade deadline, or as a pending free agent this summer.

Speculating about Lowry's future is an uneasy subject for Raptors fans, particularly as the team has fought back from a dreadful 2-8 start to fifth place in the Eastern Conference with a 17-17 record. A mid-season Lowry trade would almost feel preemptive to those who want to see the franchise icon play out the duration of his contract — and beyond — with the Raptors.

Conversely, there is an argument for the Raptors to recoup some assets before Lowry likely walks this summer, although countless proposals in trade machines online have yet to conjure up a formula that works for both the Raptors and 76ers.

Is this the beginning of the end for Lowry in Toronto? Let's hope not, but as we've seen before during Kawhi Leonard's free agency in 2019, Raptors fans will be looking through real estate listings among several other signs that could indicate how Lowry's immediate future plays out.
