Paddikal’s stunning debut would not come as a surprise to those who have followed his career in Indian domestic cricket. The Karnataka cricketer was the highest run-scorer in the 50-over Vijay Hazare Trophy and the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy tournaments..
In Karnataka’s winning campaign, the 20-year-old left-hander scored a massive 580 runs in 12 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy games, at a strike rate of 175.75 including an unbeaten century and five 50-plus scores.
Since 2018, Devdutt Paddikal's Average + Strike Rate in T20s is 240.19. The highest in the world among 349 batsmen who have scored at least 500 runs. Having a fine debut for RCB at the moment. #SRHvsRCB

Half ton for Paddikal on debut, a knock full of coolness while being aggressive on the same time. @AaronFinch5 is starting to come into his own now. Horror time ahead for @SunRisers until they strike! @TV9Bharatvarsh #T20withTV9 #Dream11IPL #RCBvSRH
