RCMP ask for tips on Rocelyn Gabriel's whereabouts before she froze to death

Manitoba RCMP are still working on an investigation into how a Portage la Prairie woman ended up freezing to death in January of 2014.

Rocelyn Gabriel, 20, was found in a snowbank at the city's recycling depot suffering from hypothermia.

She later died in hospital.

Police said Thursday they have been able to put together a timeline of Gabriel's movements but they still have questions about what happened between 4 a.m. and 4:40 a.m. on January 26, the day she was found.

RCMP said last year that foul play was ruled out, but the family doesn't believe Gabriel walked from a house party where she'd been that night, past her own home and other places where she could have sought help, to end up at the recycling depot.

They believe someone knows something about Gabriel's death.

RCMP are asking anyone with information to call them in Portage at 204-857-4445 or call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477.
